I really hope he can turn this around. I worry about what can happen if he doesn’t.

I think the backdrop to all of this anti-immigrant fervor are the forecasts for increased warming, forcing changes in rainfall. People will have to move away from increasingly arid regions toward areas that can still support agriculture. Longer term the probability that equatorial regions will become uninhabitable means, I fear, that those dislocations will dwarf previous migrations.
