I assume the previous administrations and Obama feel that the image of billions going to Israel in aid needs a bit of balance in the Arab world. We support Israel when it defends itself by leveling parts of Gaza, we help rebuild it to seem more even handed. It’s what civilized nations do, even those like Israel that are directly threatened.
The bad news is, I agree that nothing we do, will make the terrorists love us, short of the destruction of Israel. I’d feel better about the aid if rich Arab countries footed more of the bill too.

RIYADH Feb 22 (Reuters) - Gulf Arab states proposed on Sunday a joint plan for Arab aid to rebuild the Gaza Strip.

The extent of the funding has not been revealed but a Gulf Arab official said $1.25 billion has been pledged by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.” Big woop.

I turn off when the ‘previous administration’ is mentioned…it’s a new day, a new world, and we need to adapt
