Satriani does not impress me…plays a lot of fast scales…big whoop…speed means nothing

Speed by itself means little, but it indicates precision and control from which the ability to translate emotion into tone originates.

Satriani is good.

I prefer Bonamassa, SRV, Metheny and a host of others, but I can’t dismiss Satriani’s mastery.
