So just when did he claim to be a citizen of Mexico? Have not found yet when he did. This case has gone thru state courts and federal courts and his appeals were rejected at all levels.
Plus he gave statements before he was arrested and they were ruled admisable. He was convicted along with other evidence that indicated his guilt.
I don’t know a whole lot about the case, other than the implications for Americans traveling abroad. It’s not like the treaty said we have to turn foreign nationals over to another government, regardless of what crime they commit. All it said was we have to allow them to meet with a consulate. What could it have hurt to allow that?
