Suppose Weiner immediately said something like:

“Yes, that is a very unfortunate personal photo, that I accidentally sent out publicly. I hope that anyone who’s ever inadvertently sent an email to the wrong person, or who hit “reply all” by mistake, will understand my embarrassment and forgive me.”

Would it have died down the next day?
