Natch! I suspect he’s none too thrilled with the idea of an armed populace in the first place, but if a large percentage of the armed should happen to be benighted, ignorant peasants harboring racial bigotries to which they have not yet come to terms (and for which they have yet to pay), then disarming them would be a prudent first step.

Bottom line: if you think someone is your enemy, you don’t want him armed, and this guy seems to think of the American people (or at least a good chunk of them) as potential enemies.
