I’m just thinking of whether to buy it, specifically for Skyrim but also for later games. So I wonder if it’s better for playing than mouse+keyboard and whether there are official drivers that come with the controller specifically for PC.

There is an official “XBox 360 Controller for Windows” that Microsoft sells, so I imagine there’s probably at least some driver support somewhere. As for whether it’s better than mouse+keyboard, it all comes down to personal preference.
