Goddamn, I love that the fuck your feelings crowd is upset because Wilson rightfully mocked how they treat Trump as being all knowing and everyone else is a bunch of stupid elitists. It was hilarious. I would have laughed too because there’s a huge disconnect in Trump world about what elitism actually is. They really do think that Trump is a big peasant I guess like the more naive elements of the Russian peasantry did for Nicholas II I guess.

Well, tbh, Trump really IS a “big peasant” in a lot of ways: for all his big-money RE dealings, and glitz-and-glamour marketing, it’s really easy to picture him as Just Some Guy From Queens made good: Archie Bunker as billionaire. The simple outfits, the fast-food face-stuffing, the crude, autocratic I-Am-The-Boss style of “management”: and above all, the loudmouthed prejudices. Like it or not, Donald Trump is a lot closer to The American Everyman than we would like to think. It doesn’t, in the least, mean he is fit to be President, but it’s a reality.
