So I’m looking at this computer. (The new ones are about the same price as the refurbished at the Apple store!) How do I find out whether or not it runs the software (CS4) I bought?

Look on the CS4 packaging or user manual for the system requirements. It should specify which computers it runs on, and what capabilities are required.
