Its a terrible term. The family claims they renamed the ranch in 1983; but eight people say they could still make out the original outlines on the painted-over rock. Or did the witnesses actually see the name in bold paint? Are there pictures of this? It seems like a bit of a nontroversy if attempts were made to change it by renaming the ranch and painting over the name, especially since people of all political leanings still flock to Squaw Valley CA to ski….perhaps since that is an official name, more energy should be put into pushing the state to force a change there.
