Reality will sooner or later smack them upside the head. Trying to operate an anonymous financial network is an open invitation for less principled users to abuse it.

But I guess a true libertarian is OK with that.

It’s a bit of a pyramid scheme. Someone with a shitload of money started bitcoin, got a few other people with a shitload of money to invest, and then they started handing them back and forth to create an ‘exchange’…that sucks in the marks - the people who will ultimately boost the value of bitcoins to its target price, at which point the initial ‘investors’ will pull out their profits and say, “That was fun…let’s see how long it survives on its own.”
