The “precedent” set by President Reagan?

That’s what I’d say immediately to the wingnuts if I was President. As a matter of fact, I’d say it was my direct inspiration.

Indeed, the “precedent” already existed, the Taliban just set a higher price than last time.

And I know nothing about the five released. Have they ever been charged with crimes, let alone tried and convicted? What’s the evidence against them? Am I just supposed to take the word of Congressional Republicans that these were very dangerous guys and letting them loose was a horrifically bad idea?
