Usually especially down South but not always. That’s been my experience as well. A kid I knew who was briefly homeschooled, his family was quite right wing Christian albeit Catholic and not Evangelical.
I have spent half my life in the North (MI) and half in the South (TN, TX, FL). The only homeschoolers I know are from the South.
Someone above said anti-vax families are homeschooled. I was stationed with Limbaugh-worshipping, evangelical Baptist, anti-vaxer who homeschooled who 3 girls. I felt sorry for his wife and children. He believed, and openly voiced, that women should be submissive to women. When I went off to college, we briefly communicated by email and would write about my studying “your science” because he didn’t believe in biology, physics, chemistry, genetics, etc…..you know, the facts of life.
