Of course it wouldn’t, but it would drive them crazy, trying to tweak known-fake quotes to get their lies past the filter. This could be a TOS violation resulting in account termination and IP block. Some developers could have a huge amount of fun implementing it. Of course it wouldn’t increase profit, just honesty, so they probably wouldn’t care to spend the money on it.

Maybe I’ll make my own Twitter with honesty, blackjack, and hookers.

The thing is they don’t even know these are Fake Quotes. Whenever I correct a Fake Quote and provide a link, the most frequent response is AIIIIEEEEEE!!!! BLOCK TEH LIBRUL!!11!!!!

Sometimes wingnuts will attempt to argue with me, saying “Well OK maybe Jefferson didn’t say it but ITZ STILL TEH TROOF!!11!!!1 or U CANT TRUST TEH SNOAPS!!!1111
