I think you can still get a “Covenant Marriage” (which isn’t even as draconian as your suggestion) in a couple states, but virtually no one wants them for themselves.
Restrictions are for other people.

Exactly. And in the case of the fundie Evangelical types it is all about getting into other people’s business.

Alcohol. Teenage Pregnancy. Rock and Roll. Abortion. Drugs. Gays. Same Sex Marriage. They seem to have to a cause to conquer instead of just doing that real Christian thing of making yourself a better person and actually helping others less fortunate.
