My father in law passed away last night…he had been sick and in pain for a long time and was very ready to move on. We’re all at peace.

But he went earlier than hospice thought he would and once the dust had settled we were left with this conversation between my husband and I:

Husband: “He didn’t get to vote.”

Me: “Nope, and I’m convinced he planned to get out early and not have to deal with the election any more.”

Pause.

“I could try to vote for him. I mean, he just died 12 hours ago.”

“Honey, he would have voted for Trump. I mean, voter fraud for Hillary is not worth the felony, much less to vote for Trump like he wanted.”

“But it would be my final victory if he voted for Hillary post-mortem. 43 years of listening to his politics and his ranting. I could WIN. Please?”

“No. Not happening. Content yourself that it’s one less vote for Trump in Texas.”

We will have a bit more political peace in our household now. The universe has impeccable timing.
