Sorry, but again No. Even in Canada or France it is easier to legally buy a gun than it is to legally acquire an Eddie the Eagle customer in the US.

The critical difference is that meeting the legal conditions for owning a gun is non-discretionary: If you are not in a prohibited category and meet the legal requirements, you will be able to get the needed permit for said gun.

By contrast the ability to purchase the Eddie the Eagle costume is entirely at the NRA’s discretion (subject to civil rights legislation, to be clear). The NRA, like Disney, can refuse permission because a person has an obnoxious and offensive presence on social media and the org thinks the person shouldn’t be around children. The Rage Furby would not be able to own an an Eddie costume either.

The difference in discretion in gaining authorization is a cardinal one and it defeats Bee’s argument.
