re: #224 HappyWarrior

I would love to take a course on human genetics really.

I’ve been looking for a good online video series that would cover genetics, focusing on humans, that could cover the subject broadly and deeply enough to be useful for serious study by the ardent lay student. Unfortunately I’ve not found one. There are lectures here and there that are very useful, given by geneticists and biological anthropologists, but they are either too shallow or too deep, or just can’t fit into a series.

I have been trying for the past couple of years to grasp genomics (and human evolution) - a deep subject that takes some time to get the vocabulary down enough to be able to follow a contemporary research lecture.

I’ve also looked for a good introduction to population genetics for the general reader, but haven’t found one. Most of the few texts that do exist are written for third year bio majors and can be exceedingly tedious.
