He brought back some of Pertwee, who is my all time favorite doctor, but his episodes could have been a lot better. Whoever came up with the sonic sunglasses and rock-and-roll Doctor guitar-playing should be shot.

The guitar was pretty cool, I thought, but I could take or leave the sonic sunglasses. The Clara storyline completely rubbed me the wrong way. I think the way they dealt with her during his tenure was my least favorite part.
