So my Facebook feed is full of deranged wingnut stuff from the dude who played bass in my high school band. Such a shame. He was a nice, intelligent guy back in the late 90s. Now he thinks the blacks are coming for his wallet and his guns. What the hell happened?

The other two guys who were in the band are a) a Portland liberal, who might have more admiration for Edward Snowden than I like, but otherwise is pretty much on the same wavelength as me politically, and b) apparently apolitical, but into new-age hippie stuff, which is fine by me, so long as his kid gets his vaccinations.
