It’s not only Romneycare 2.0 but it’s also close to what the Heritage Foundation and GOP Congress planned in response to Clintoncare. Their whole problem with ACA is the signer of it. And for that, they’re willing to let millions of Americans lose their insurance because Obama having that on his legacy is worse to them than Americans losing their insurance. And that’s what makes this so fucked up. But yeah ACA was great when it was called Romneycare. Mitt even called it a model for the nation when he first ran for president.

I have this notion that Obama looked at the Romneycare and Heritage plans, and figured they stood a better chance in Congress than a single-payer plan, being masterminded by Republicans. I also have the notion that he — as a rational man — had no idea how FUBAR the GOTP is, and that its vehement opposition of the law after passage caught him off guard.

Nothing he has done has met with any kind of approval, even grudging approval, from the extreme right wing. They simply hate his guts.
