I’m going to come out first here and admit that I didn’t realize 20,000 leagues under the sea was not the submarine’s depth until sometime in my mid-40’s. I didn’t honestly think the sub was 20,000 leagues under the sea, I just thought it was a stupid name for a book. Then one day I picked up the book and the title suddenly made sense to me. “Oh, Verne meant horizontally, not vertically!”

Just like I thought when I was a kid “What’s so impressive about a 16” gun?”
