I still remember some house renovation show (maybe ’90s or early ’00s?) where the designer put HAY as in “is for horses” on the wall in the living room as some sort of design statement. This pretty much says how I feel about house designers.

Form follows function. That all black design is just form and it functions solely as a design element for someone who never actually cooks in a kitchen.
