Yeah, you’re right about that. Either way, he’s got an uphill battle because the very fact he served as Obama’s ambassador to China will be used against him. I think that was a really good pick by the way on Obama’s part. Huntsman seems to be a guy who really understands China. I’ve gotten in to modern Chinese history over the past year and it fascinates me. Have a great professor too.

On a personal note, the fact that Huntsman served his mission in China plays into it greatly. Obama wasn’t just asking him to be an ambassador. He was asking him to be an ambassador to a people he had lived among, served, and loved.
