I love any plant that has “blue” (mostly lavender or purple) flowers. I miss lilac, my favorite as a child when we lived in Buffalo, which doesn’t grow well here—it’s too hot. Wisteria does, though. We ordered a blue and white spray for my son’s casket, although I don’t know what the flowers were—but most of them were a sort of periwinkle color along with the white ones. We’ve also ordered the ground plaque for his grave which has a standard for that cemetery, so everything is almost finished and it should be in place by July 1. Losing him will never be finished, though, for those of us who loved him.

The lilacs here in the mid west used to be very beautiful. Global warming has reduced them to twiggy shrubs with few flowers. Sad. Remember when you could walk down the street and the bushes would make the whole block smell like lilacs?
