Thursday begins the Chinese New Year — the year of the goat, or sheep, or ram, depending who you ask. In Chinese, it’s 羊年 (yang nian), and my Chinese “sign.”

This is important: I will eat sheep cheese, although I don’t particularly like it, but goat cheese I do not like at all, and ram cheese is right out of the question…
