Mrs. FBW worked for someone like that. He claimed to be conducting secret missions for the Government on the Space Shuttle, and did things like disappearing for the duration of Shuttle flights. He even showed up to the company Halloween Party with what appeared to be a NASA-issue pressure suit.

So I said, “How does the helmet go on?”

He said, “It’s easy! Twist, turn lock… twist, turn, lock…er, um…twist, turn, lock”

That pretty much confirmed to me that he was bullshitting. NASA wasn’t likely to send into space somebody who couldn’t put his helmet on.

That’s a new one. Usually, I remark upon the fact that there are more Navy SEALS in bars than there ever were trained.
