Has anyone else noticed the contradiction involved with the current economic decline?

All my life I’ve been told that Americans are too materialistic, that we buy too much stuff that we don’t need.

So this Christmas America cuts back a bit. And damnme but the sky seems to be falling.

We can’t win for losing.
