I make fun of Hummer drivers as much as the next person, but if they can afford that beast and the gas to go with it, it is none of my business what they drive.

When I worked at Ford, I managed a database of vehicle warranty issues and technical service manuals. If a Ford Escape or Mercury Mariner hybrid vehicle is involved in a wreck, a specially trained environmental technician has to remove the battery, because it’s a an environmental hazard.

Regular combustion engine vehicles do not have the problem.
