I think that there are doubtlessly situations where external regime change are desirable… situations where its necessary… once again, yes for example I think in cases of state sponsored genocide that regime change is probably necessary or at least STRONGLY DESIRABLE.

That said… I think that there needs to be an external arbiter of when the tanks should roll out/planes should fly for the sake of overthrowing a regime in a foreign nation that is not actively hostile to any of its neighbors. I’m comfortable using the UN for that purpose at the moment because if nothing else it seems to err on the side of caution…

Agreed. Lazardo’s statement as it was written is against regime change as such.

Also it doesn’t seem as if NATO is acting outside of the boundaries of UN resolution.

PS: the word “genocide” is thrown around these days as a synonym to mass murder, which it isn’t. Kaddafi wasn’t about to commit genocide, he was about to massacre a lot of people, which is why his regime needed some huge change.
