I wouldn’t have, but it was their prize to give. Given that Obama was as surprised as anyone and that he was probably thinking “oh shit, what am I gonna do with this?” at the time, I don’t think it’s any reflection on Obama. Although Jimmy Carter has to have been really pissed.
