By selecting Akin, the GOP might very well have cost themselves the coming Senate race in Missouri. He’s being exposed as the right wing lunatic that he is, and that might turn off just enough independent voters in MO to get the Democratic party candidate elected.

Bank on it. He doesn’t have a chance in hell now. His attempt to walk back his comment isn’t fooling ANYONE. This was no verbal slip.

The Repubs only hope is to replace him.
