It may not work to well to keep his supporters, though. There is, for example, a lot of enthusiasm for ditching NAFTA on FR and when Trump says ‘never mind’ there will be much backtracking to do. This has happened on other issues, and while a number of posters counsel patience and discuss 11 dimension chess, I can’t see it being sustainable for Trump supporters in general.

I’m just not putting much faith in his supporters seeing the light. It would have to be an overlapping proportion of those who have some brain cells AND who are paying deep attention. Those who are paying attention but believe everything he says won’t be touched. Neither will those with some brain cells that have just gone about their lives and aren’t paying attention. Congressional R’s will be content unless it blows up in their faces.
