This is a reason I’m nervous about raising the minimum wage at this point. When employment doesn’t recover quickly, the minimum wage will paint a target on Democrats’ backs. It might be better to wait until employment does recover before pushing this.

I am less concerned about raising it given the fact that a lot of essential workers need to recognized for how essential they were AND REMAIN EVEN ADFTER COVID PASSES Another thing that the GOP likes to leave out is that this is a phased increase, we are not doubling it overnight.
