I understand what you are saying, but I would reply that this is one of those cases where sarcasm is not appropriate.

It wasn’t really intended as sarcasm. I was trying to highlight the callous party atmosphere. It’s not a serious political or economic movement. They want to keep the party atmosphere to keep the attending rubes happy regardless of the things happening around them. Personally I find it sad, vapid and heartless.
