Yes, the dudebros have gone nuts. Arresting someone for sharing an HBO password with a friend would never be tolerated, and will never happen. Sharing it with 1000 “friends” will of course get you in serious trouble.

These folks have fevered imaginations, and think they’re about to be attacked by the government. They have a lot in common with the wingnuts.

In recent weeks, a wifi hub thingy that apparently belongs to a neighbor of mine has been appearing, from time to time, as a device on MY network/LAN. By checking it’s properties, I’ve gleaned a MAC address, and by monitoring the nearby wifi signals, I’ve been able to determine which specific wifi signal it almost certainly belongs to, because the MAC’s match.

I would hope that you could understand why I’m very reluctant to approach my neighbor about the issue.
