if I’m sitting on a bus minding my own business and a bunch of loud youts said to me “Obama is going to be President for as long as he wants, and you better get used to it”, should I feel just a teensy bit threatened?

No, you shouldn’t.

Not unless you’re threatened by black people, or a black president, or the idea of a president remaining in office for his full term, despite assassination rhetoric, attempts at portraying him as a kenyan usurper, and mutterings about ‘taking our country back’ from people who don’t seem to understand that in a democracy, sometimes the other guy wins.
