Yes, this would be my position. I am not fond of the EC honestly as a whole but if we’re going to have it, it should be by who gets more votes in the state. The idea to split is GOP gamesmanship to somehow win states that they’ve actually lost. They tried doing this in Virginia after Obama beat Romney. It would have been absurd. Romney got nearly 150,000 less votes than Obama here yet had the law passed. He would have gotten 8 EVs to Obama’s 3. To me it’s a tact admission by GOP legislators that their party can’t win legitimately.

this and the voter repression measure make it appear like a party that believes it’s losing in the long term, so it is desperately scrabbling for any handhold it can latch onto to keep from falling in the pit
