As far as newspapers back then you are somewhat correct. Most large cities had at least 2 dailies. Thats gone for the most part now. Also, we have the full resources of the internet whereas back then if you lived in Boston and wanted to see the New York SUNDAY Times you would have to wait till Wednesday to buy a copy (aside from driving to and from NY on that Sunday)

Amazingly enough, here in the sticks of NM, I can get the Wall Street Journal in the mail on the day it is printed! I’m not sure how they do that. And there are two local papers, and they both suck somethin’ awful.
