That’s a risk of course. Iranians may circle the wagons around Ahmajinedad. But so what, especially given how much of the rest of the region feels? I mean it’s not like Arabs and other Middle Easterners who still support us after the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan are gonna say, “All that stuff was OK, but we draw the line at bombing nuke facilities in a country we really fear.”

I’m not saying it won’t eventually need to come to that. But the same could have been said of Iraq. If we did that, I’d much prefer going in with the neighbors overtly supporting us, rather than covert support with overt condemnation.
