Well, if you’re looking for a reading list on the Middle East, that’s a good place to start on background. Even though it’s been out for nearly 20 years (yeah, it’s been that long), it’s still solid on the basic interactions in those two countries. With events in Lebanon what they are, probably moreso.

Also, anything by Bernard Lewis is highly recommended. Michael Oren’s history of the 6 day war is also highly recommended along with Quandt’s Peace Process and Spiegel’s The Other Arab Israeli Conflict (discussing the US role and how both sides tried to play to the US).

Thanks, lawhawk. I have wanted to do more reading on the subject, but recent events have made me leery of who to trust. I trust any book on the subject with your recommendation, though. Thanks again.
