OT: Have you seen the latest sad twist of the girl that fled her Muslim family claiming she needed protection from them because she converted to Christianity? The one that saw all the Christian wing-nuts all up in arms? It turns out this poor girl has been diagnosed with uterine cancer and, though just 17, has asked a court to deny her (birth) parents wishes that she get the medical care the doctors recommend because - get this - she went to a faith healing. The court has said she’s old enough to make her own decisions. So sad, not only are these wing-nuts screwing up her life, they may be killing her:

She’s turning eighteen next week. This will be out of her parents’ hands then.

IIRC, they came to the US in the first place so their child could have proper medical treatment for a problem she had as a little girl.

This is heartbreaking.

These assholes will proclaim her as some kind of martyr.
