And the ultimate question will be whom the majority of the public blames - the president or the Republicans. Whichever avoids blame will probably hold the majority in Congress for a generation, at least.

Unfortunately, the cynic in me…or, rather, the cynic that is me…knows that the public will simply pin the blame on Obama, as we’ve become a country that believes a president capable of practically ruling by fiat, such that any disaster on their watch is automatically their “fault.”
