I believe tide has turned, but it will be a long time before we see results. The point is, a lot of politicians are no longer in fear of the NRA and its lobbying powers.

That does not mean that there are not still a lot of politicians who support the NRA and its policies, but they will no longer see the sort of smooth sailing that they have enjoyed for the past 50 years.
