Years ago, long before we were married, Zedushka did his “hitchhike across Europe” thing. One of his most vivid memories is taking the overnight ferry from Brindisi, Italy, to Patras, Greece. On the Patras landing were dozens of shishlik vendors roasting their skewers over little open grills. You could smell the meat cooking way out at sea.

My vision of Hell - being stuck on that boat, unable to get to shore, smelling that meat roasting, forever out of reach.

Or living in Mississippi.
