Abraham needed a backstory.
Yes. That backstory was the 1. the creation of the world; which leads to 2. the creation of humankind in general; 3. which soon leads to the Flood, which kills everyone but Noah’s family - also all Cainites; 4. which leads to the first division of the peoples and tongues (Babel); 5. which can now proceed to the creation of specifically Hebrews through the first Hebrew, Abraham.
There is nothing here that so much as hints at A&E being an etiological myth or allows it.
