re: #54 Kruk
Sigh. Yes, Dr Laura, African-Americans have the ‘privilege’ of using the N-word freely than whites do. Let’s have a look at a few of the things whites have more freedom to do than blacks do, shall we?
-Drive an expensive car without getting pulled over for DWB
-Get called “promising” of “full of potential” when you get a plum job or promotion you may be young or inexperienced for rather than a “token” or “affirmitive action” candidate.
-Voice your opinion about things that are wrong in the country without being called “militant” or “thug”.
-Get to succeed without having to be “a credit to your race”.
-Get to fail without being an indictment of your culture.
-Get to define yourself as the norm rather than “the other”.
-Not have to work twice has hard to be considered as good as your colleagues. And that’s just the things I’m listing off the top of my head. The “Oh, woe betide us poor oppressed whites” theme really irritates me.
How’s that work for admission to an elite University?
