I guess the company you run wouldn’t obtain top talent. That might hurt in the long run.

I run a company. We hire only world-class people with an existing industry reputation. You know what? We don’t give out bonus dollars for failure, nobody else I know who runs a successful business does so as well.

Looking at the figures so far our 10 person company is getting ready to give out at least 200K in bonus money for 2009. I’m up for a chunk of it because I’ve brought in more than 2x my salary+benefits in revenue.
