Pete Buttigieg won an essay contest in high school writing about his political hero: Bernie Sanders. I don’t see him as a slavish follower; I doubt AOC is either.

i would normally have said who cares what they did in high school

then i remembered that they are both a lot closer to their high school days than many of us are

not a dig. i am merely recognizing my age and their youth at the same time
