The final season of The Americans starts Mar 28; the opening episode of the season is set in autumn ‘87, in the run-up to the arms control talks.

I remain hopeful that the season covers 2 years; it’s become important to me that the finale should include the fall of the Berlin wall.

we just started watching. we’re somewhere in late season 1 or early in 2.

it may be just me
i find the two main characters just a bit super hero-ish
and their targets / marks are all too vulnerable and gullible, and every one corruptable

they lead double or triple lives and always seem to have time to be everywhere, raise the kids, grocery shopping, the office, fake marriages, and every now and then an actual op
they are never seen training and still have excellent aim and win nearly every physical fight/encounter
their disguises are never detected

when some professional (say fbi or army guy) seems to get an upper hand, they end up doing something predictable and buffoonish (not frisking, getting too close, etc)

it may be just me (and it may be early in the series)
